Dye Hard: A Sip and Dip Experience
Tono + co. presents our virtual dye-a-long experience, Dye-Hard: Sip and Dip Experience. This class is perfect for anyone missing togetherness and in need of a boost in creativity. Open to beginners. All you need is a few kitchen essentials to join, and we'll handle the rest. Together we will dye our very own Tono + co. Silk scarf in Scout or Classic size.
Our live dye-a-long demo, led by our owner Janelle Thomson, will take place on May 8th at 1-2 pm PST via Zoom. Each class ticket comes with our Dye-at-Home Kit and the option to add 3 handcrafted Cocktail Kit from one of my favorite local restaurants, Playground DTSA.
The class will be recorded, so if you can’t make it to the live session, you are welcome to view the video playback and enjoy it at your own pace.
The class conversation will focus on the basics of dying your silk scarf, review some dye color theory, and have the opportunity to ask your burning questions.
The spots are limited to maintain an intimate atmosphere.

Our current in-house processing time for all ribbon and wearable products is 2-3 business days + the shipping method you select. If you purchase a textile we have a current lead time of 10 business days + shipping, as each silk textile is dyed-to-order. If you need your order sooner, please select Rush Processing at checkout.
Rush Processing is a service which will put your order at the front of the production line and is an added 30% fee to your total order. Our whole team of gals stops what they're doing and focuses full attention on your order. Rush orders delay all other orders and projects in our studio. It's a service for those moments you find yourself in a ribbon emergency. If you need your order rushed, please select the HELP! option in your cart during checkout. For ribbons and wearables, rushing your order will reduce the processing time from 2-3 business days to 1 business day. For textiles, rush processing reduces the 10 business day production time to 5 business days.
We currently ship using USPS Priority Mail for domestic orders and DHL Express for orders outside the US. For more information on our shipping policies, visit our shipping info page.
To clean your textiles you can dry clean, hand, or machine wash on cold. Depending on the stain, silk is best washed by hand with a mild detergent. Rinse well, squeeze out surplus moisture by rolling in a towel and hang to dry or tumble dry. Never spot treat your silk textile. Rubbing one area of silk can cause lightening in just that spot. For moderate stain removal, especially ones in the middle, wash the entire textile. Dark or unsightly stains should be taken to a dry cleaner.
Following along with the video playback to dye my scarf was a blast.
I had a great evening, learning how to dye silk in a color that I selected and enjoying craft cocktails. Tono & Co., is a dream firm to work with; the ribbon colors they offer are so gorgeous. What fun it was creating my own dyed scarf. This was more than a 'craft project'; I actually created something that I will wear, it is beautiful! The virtual class was easy to follow, questions were answered and we had a fun time while participating! Highly recommended!
